T3 magazine are asking for trouble. In the gaming gadget section of this years T3 Awards the contenders are: PlayStation 3, DJ Hero, Nintendo DSi XL, the Alienware M11x laptop and the XBox 360 Slim. Strangely it appears the Xbox was only selected to be a finalist as a ‘wildcard entry’.

Shortlisted contenders which did not make the final selection include Guitar Hero 5, the PSPGo and surprisingly, the iPod Touch. The ‘Gaming Gadget’ category is a new addition to this years T3 awards and replaces the ‘Game Of The Year’ category.

I hate these things. More 360 users = more possible 360 votes. It’s not exactly an accurate representation of the best ‘Gaming Gadget’.

  Yeah, it’s just ridiculous and asking for fanboy wars. The Xbox 360 is always going to win because a lot more people have one. It’s as simple as that. In fact, it’s the same thing with all these gadget (or game) awards where the public vote for the winners. It’s just pointless.

    Yeah, but most get an eggbox cos mummy and daddy bought them one, and most are young and dont care about voting (in my opinion). Alot more mature gamers (I know anyway) tend to have PS3′s I have one purely for games that dont come out on my PS3.

PS3 just got my vote. I’m not a fanboy! just honest, and I honestly think that the PS3 is a much better “gadget” or gaming machine than the Xbox360.
