You’ve got to love PC gamers. They’re nothing like console gamers, really. You see, a console gamer will sit around with their analogue sticks and their analogue triggers and wait to hear of news about DLC. A PC gamer picks through file structures of every patch and finds that news for himself. With a keyboard and mouse.
That’s what one wiley young man has done with the 1.3 upgrade patch on the PC version of Gearbox’s manic (and fantastic) first-person-shooter RPG. Apparently, Borderlands is due for a fourth piece of DLC. The new stuff looks set to involve a Ninja Claptrap leading a revolution of the one-wheeled automatons.
Obviously this hasn’t been confirmed yet but the savvy patch-picker has laid out a comprehensive list of features and characters over on the Gearbox forums (found via CVG) as well as an outline of mission structures (9 main missions and 12 side missions). I won’t go in to details here, for fear of upsetting those who like surprises, but there does seem to be a lot of content, some new characters, lots of new enemies and new locations.
We loved Borderlands and I know that many of you are still playing it. This fourth DLC is sure to be welcomed by its legions of fans and perhaps it will be the icing on the cake of the often-talked-about Special Edition re-release.
Thanks, PC gamers.

They always said there would be more. Four bits in total I think.

The guy who unearthed this info (LegendDrew) is complaining on the Gearbox forum that this sixthaxis article has called him a PC gamer when he’s not! You don’t have to have the game to mess with the steam update files which is what he did.

Borderlands kicks ass, rocks and generally does things of an awesome nature. I hope its a large slice of DLC pie.

Truly fantastic news! This has turned a frown upside-down. :)
It’s obviously great that it has been supported so well but I’m hopeful that a sequel is in the mix too.
