Activision have updated their release calendar for this year, dating musical sequel DJ Hero 2 for October 22nd here in Europe, and October 19th in the US.

Whilst the original game was slammed for being too skewed towards rap and hip-hop, when our own Tuffcub spoke to the developers earlier in the year, they told him that “this time the game is balanced out… there are more dance acts, more European acts. The game will feature a balance of rap, hip hop, dance and pop.”

You can decide for yourself by checking out the full list of artists in the final game.

  1. Why couldn’t some DLC suffice? It’ll still sell millions to average joes, sadly.

  2. I must admit, it’s too soon for this I think. DLC would be best. I was surprised how good it was actually when I had a go. I was expecting it to be a bit rubbish.

  4. It might just be me, but I’m getting tired of all these music game. For me it’s the same thing only in a little different way.

  5. Oh bugger. Erm.. Sorry DJ Hero 2, Fallout wins.

    • That’s ok – By the time you & i are done with fallout (as that would also be my choice), DJ Hero won’t have sold anything & will be massively reduced! Win!
It’s a bit too soon anyway as others have said.

  6. I actually quite liked the first DJ Hero. Yeah there were far too many hip hop tracks on there but the game was still solid. They obviously thought their biggest market would be in hip hop, i guess maybe they should of done a little more research.
Seems they’ve listened to the fans and actually seen to giving us what we want. As long as they dont try and shove a ‘new’ peripheral down my throat i’ll be getting it!

  7. I loved Dj hero (1) but the only thing that annoyed me is the lack of dlc its almost as if they wanted to wait for djh2 before releasing good tracks waste of money in some respects as im sure djh2 will play the tracks from the first game . Anways newbie rant over !!
