Vanquish is Sega’s upcoming sci-fi based third person shooter. It looks beautiful and more than a little bit insane but then Shinji Mikami is the name behind it and he’s most well-known for games like Viewtiful Joe, Onimusha: Warlords and the Resident Evil series so we wouldn’t expect anything less.
Sega have gotten in touch this afternoon to let us know that there’s a demo inbound on Xbox Live and the PlayStation Store on the 31st August in North America and the 1st September in Europe (2nd of Sep for Australia). Players will take on the role of Sam, a US government agent with a fancy battle suit. You can choose between casual and normal difficulty settings and use your array of weaponry (and “walkers”!) to take down your enemies. The demo will reach a crescendo with a boss character called Argus.

I’m interested in this game, the combination of 3rd person cover-shooter coupled with fast acrobatic action normally seen in hack-n-slash platformers is a really interesting concept – if it works, which is why a demo will be useful…
