I must admit that when I first saw the announcement trailer for Heroes On The Move I was intrigued.  Taking Ratchet, Clank, Jak, Daxter and Sly Cooper, and shoving them all into one Move enabled game has the potential to be epic.

I did want to bring you a ’hands on’ with Heroes On The Move from Gamescom, but unfortunately when I managed to get a go the code had a bad day and crashed.  From what I observed though it is looking like fans of all the franchises are in for a treat.  Enjoy the gameplay video below.

  1. It looks like Jak, Daxter and Sly have been dropped into the next Ratchet and Clank game, which may be no bad thing… I’m hoping this game isn’t “too easy”.

    • AFAIK it is made by Insomniac, so other than using Jak, Daxter & Sly’s characters it stands to reason that it would essentially be another Ratchet game, albeit with characters in another ‘skin’

Hopefully it works well with Move, but from the clip above it looks like the motion control is limited to ‘curving’ the path of your weapon after a firing it (it may just be me, and its obviously early days, but that seems a bit ‘tacked on’ (akin to guiding your arrows by SixAxis in Heavenly Sword) and not a compelling reason for Motion in a game)

Should be good fun though and the multi-player sounds as though it will be fantastic, and will provide a nice bit of variety to next year’s release calendar.

What I’d love though, is a full on Naughty Dog produced Jak game on the PS3, failing that a HD re-release of The Precursor Legacy

      • Oh the thought of a HD release of The Precursor legacy is a very good one indeed.
I’m a massive fan of the Jak franchise (Naughty Dog only), and I would LOVE to play through the trilogy on the glory of the PS3 once again, for roughly the 20th time :D

  2. Did that mention of teams and winning imply competitive multiplayer?

  3. Damn, that’s a pretty fly-through of the level. Looks lovely. Not sure about Move’s implementation, though.

  4. I’m confused, is this the same games as All for One where it’s drop in/out 4 player co-op?

    • No this is a separate game, announced before All for One. We got two doses of Ratchet and Clank/Insomniac greatness next year!

  5. Does look awesome, although as mentioned i hope the Move implementation is good and not just for certain actions, i can see this needing a Nav controller

  6. Looks good!! 2x Ratchet in one year = awesome!

  7. Does look very good. I was quite cynical about it but this video has brought me round a bit. Shame its not a launch title, Move definately needs a better title to launch with.

  8. DEFINITELY got me round to thinking this could work. from the looks at it i’ve given before, it looked horribly controlled, childishly slow, and much too basic and simple, but this has rebooted my confidence in sony’s judge of developer.

@justinh to me, it looks more like the four “heroes” have been thrown into a post-naughty dog crash bandicoot game.

@cc_star wikipedia says it’s made by nihilistic software, the people who made this-gen’s conan game (which wasn’t horrible). also, a hd remake of the precursor legacy is VERY much awaited.
