Christopher Nolan, the director behind The Dark Knight, is planning on developing a game based on his latest film ‘Inception’. The film uses one of the most complex ideas I’ve seen for a while so it will be interesting to see how this will translate in to a game.
Nolan spoke about the game at a recent press conference in Rome while promoting Inception. “One thing we are looking at doing is developing a video game based on the world of the film, which has all kinds of ideas that you can’t fit into a feature film,” he said. “That’s something we’ve been talking about and are looking at doing long-term, in a couple of years.”
It is still very early days and there is currently no news about which platforms to expect it on and given how far away it is we may not even see it this generation. Hopefully Nolan can get a good developer on board as the possibilities are very intriguing.

I don’t get it…

Unless it’s an Inception MMO with time travel, then I’m out.
grogy86
wots time travel got to do with it? could be a very interesting game if done right
Crazy_Del
Seen the movie couldn’t understand a damn thing and would never get it on DVD if I have to understand it by subtitles and will never get that game. Ever!
Tuffcub
Which bit couldnt you understand? I dont get howpeople are confused by the film, its not complicated at all.
Crazy_Del
Just so you knowI’m deaf. I’m a lip reader I only go to cinema for action and special effects.
Then get the DVD for the same reason and subtitles for the story. But Inception I managed to lip read and my friend tried to help me with the plot and the characters it didn’t make sense to me and my mate aswell lol. I suppose I could try and Rent though, but I don’t know it seemed fast paced.
Tuffcub
In that case it coud be confusing if you didnt get half the plot. Dont bother renting it it’s very meh. :D
Bilbo_bobbins
it’s not confusing until you get to the end. There are many explainations for it, which is why people seem confused, but in reality it’s not…….I think.
Tuffcub
You mean the spinning top at the end? There is a very, very simple explanation for that. The writer did it to fuck with you. It doesnt mean anything except he is having a laugh.
DRCD1
You can hear that spinning top losing angular momentum, I know you can. The sound it makes on the table starts changing. I think you can hear it. Gahh, now I have to watch the the movie again.

I loved the movie, definitely best one of the year.
Porcupine_I
i can already smell UBI messing this up!

Possibilities are very intriguing with this one, but there’s also a lot of room for error. I’d hate to see another great director taking a wrong turn by making a game about a film he’s done
scavenga
The only thing I did not understand about the movie was that it’s possible for some to not understand the movie. Loved it!
A game sounds intriguing, but will very likely be poor…
I’m thinking one-trick-pony poor, like Wanted Weapons of Fate…
DRCD1
Wanted Weapons of Fate was one awesome game (shame it was so short, though I finish the game about one time every month), in my opinion. Grin NEVER made anything other than awesome games. Well, I don’t know about Terminator but other than that, GRIN has always made awesome games. Everyone has the right to make one bad game. Look at Naughty Dog (I loved every single one of their games games exept one) and Uncharted 2.
Rob92
Are you saying Uncharted 2 is bad? I’m confused.
Universally acknowledged as one of the best if not THE best game this gen? Hmmm.
But I never played all ND games, never played Jak 3 onwards.
brillerment
Yeah, I think Nolan should rather concentrate on making more awesome movies. Leave the games to the other Nolan (North)
