Proving the old adage that there’s no smoke without fire, Media Molecule have now confirmed that LittleBigPlanet 2 will not make its original release window of late 2010. Sackboy and friends will now return in January 2011.
The news came by way of an announcement on LittleBigPlanet.com.
“We’ve all been working like powered-up space ninjas and we’re almost there, but because we love what we’ve made, and we love our little sack-friends, and most of all we love all our fans out there, we couldn’t let you all get together until we knew we were giving you the best experience imaginable. Which is why we’ve taken the hard decision to delay the worldwide release of LittleBigPlanet 2, originally slated for later this year to January 2011.”
Contrite about the unfortunate delay, Media Molecule have stated that they are looking at more ways to give people a taste of LBP2 before its eventual launch. Sound like more beta time to us.

That is a Christmas shame. Still, I am happy with their reasoning. Rather have a good late game than a rubbish early one (obviously I’d rather have a good early game, but you know, realism).

Heh, hopefully we won’t have a repeat of last year where a whole stack of titles were pushed back to January and February of this year, resulting in way too many good games at one time.
But hey, good games are good games. :) Can’t complain.

I respect them for not rushing it just to cash in on Christmas. As long as they don’t do a Gran Turismo – I’m sure most fans won’t mind waiting a little longer.

I would put money on there being lots of tie-in packs with this. A move pack, a console pack etc.

To be honest I’m quite happy it got delayed. There are far too many games out there with Move and others like Medal of Honour and such. Again it could have been a financial succes at Christmas sales though. Well the Beta was absolutely brilliant I throughly enjoyed it and looking forward to January 2011.
Little Big Planet will keep me busy on Christmas as I am trying to complete all levels without dying. Oh I do love me a challenge.

Lol that was good I also liked the multiplayer the one where you have to press the corresponding buttons. I found that fun and challenging.
@Mikey I don’t know I played the beta last week or was it two weeks ago :/
I could try again today and PM you on PS3, if you want?

I’m happy, too many games coming out between now and November. Need a chance to actually play them.

I agree I have a HUGE backlog of games that needs to be played and completed lol and of course new games in October and November. Just wish that if I didn’t have a job I would have completed them all lol.

They probably do have PS3′s in prison if you believe the press so you would have plenty of time to catch up. Double win
