News just in: Gran Turismo 5’s release date been pushed back to the “Holiday Season” – or Christmas Time to you and me, according to the US PlayStation Blog.

Now it’s not been said whether this applies to all regions, but from the quote below it seems more than likely.

We can confirm that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available this November 2nd, but the game’s release will be coming this holiday season.

We sincerely apologize to GT fans for the delay, however, creator Kazunori Yamauchi and the team at Polyphony Digital want to make certain they are creating the perfect racing experience, and we are confident that this ambitious game will exceed expectations when it launches.

Update: the Japanese version is delayed too.  We’re expecting news of a corresponding EU delay shortly.

Update 2: SCEE has confirmed that the European date is delayed too, with no new date yet for our local version.  Expect a press release soon.

Update 3: SCEE’s told TheSixthAxis that the game will still be released “before Christmas” and apologise for the delay, echoing the US statement.

We are sorry to say that Gran Turismo 5 will not be available on the previously announced release date of November 3rd, but the game will be released before Christmas.

    • I think they will make it Jailbreak proof.. instead of better.. but I do not complain.. Christmas is fine for me.. bundle it with a white ps3 please..

  4. When its done its done , a few weeks is no big deal . People are going to be so busy with other games . One thing i can guarantee is i wont be able to afford it if its in December, will probably be more like February if this effects EU.

    Oh, woe is me that I only have 18 games to buy this season now instead of 19. Tragedy.

    • 18! I’m struggling to find 6 before the end of the year. Christmas game releases have become almost as boring as the music releases. COD is basically the games equivilant of the x-factor winner.
