Sony Japan has announced a new digital book service for the PSN called ‘PlayView for Games’. This will deliver “multimedia-enhanced digital copies of books to be viewed on PlayStation 3 and PSP” for a small fee.
The ‘PlayView’ technology allows the display of high resolution content, complete with zooming, search and other tools.
The first book will be a Capcom strategy guide called ‘Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G Monster Data Chishikisho.’

Cool. Would be nice to have the opportunity to download a strategy guide that could be viewed from the XMB without quitting the game..!

Wish granted.

I really prefer paper strategy guides. But it sounds pretty cool though.

I`m never sure about stratagy guides, i like to play through games on my own without help, but i can see the point of them, so im not sure about this
Charmed_Fanatic

Would be cool but I prefer my FF13 Collector’s Edition guide thanks ;)

I like to use GameFAQS for free! Have never understood the appeal of strategy guides.

if its a game im really into then i sometimes buy them to get the most out of the game and to generally be able to read and learn new things about it, when im not playing, generally – bog time haha. Ive got a few, FFVII, FFVIII, FFXII, FFXIII, Killzone 2 & COD MW2

The only games that you really need strategy guides for are rpg’s and strategy games. Since rpg’s are massive in japan i can see this taking off. Why would you want a strategy guide for mw2 for example?
SpikeyMikey23
to learn the maps, to find good spots, flanking routes, new perks, spec ops strategies ……
tonycawley
Spec ops strategies ok fair enough, but you learn all the other stuff just through playing.
