Whilst at least 96% of TSA readers have already tuned out of anything Gran Turismo 5 related (and every writer except me) for the hardcore still waiting on every scrap of information, rest assured that neither Sony nor Polyphony have forgotten about the game.
Yamauchi’s latest tweet says that a release date will be announced soon,

Translated, it says that the release date (well, ‘sale’ date) will be announced promptly. We’re guessing that means today, so expect a press release, confirmed (new) date and – presumably – some official videos, screens, biscuits and t-shirts.
Gran Turismo 5 was delayed days before its original, locked date of the 5th of November, and despite leaks from all over since Sony haven’t said a thing apart from taking some of the videos down from YouTube. We’re hoping this one sticks, and we’d be very surprised if the game’s not out two weeks today.
We’ll update if and when that date is confirmed.

Love this gamesmanship from the Gt5 makers and Sony in the face of NFS launching next week (on the back of that ‘oohh this Burnout / NFS fusion is nice’ demo)…
