A “reliable source” has apparently been speaking to IGN regarding Microsoft’s assault on the Kinect core market, and Gears of War may be leading the charge:
“According to our tip, Microsoft is using the Spike TV Video Games Awards (VGAs) to introduce some big action games, including new titles for the Kinect. The headliner is Gears of War for Kinect.”
Epic’s Cliff Bleszinski has confirmed that there will be no Kinect for Gears of War 3, so if the source is accurate then we assume a spin off of some sort is on the way. Super Cole Kart?

Maybe it’s the sport that cole was apparently pretty good at before e-day.
Surely not, though?

How in the hell is Gears of War supposed to work with Kinect?!

Microsoft mentioned a while back that hybrid games using Kinect and a pad were being developed, so maybe this is one of them?

Good shout, dan, makes a lot more sense.
A ‘pew, pew, pew!’ GOW would be pretty funny though.

Isn’t the whole point of Kinect supposed to be that you are the controler and nothing else though, would seem kind of a kop out and hypocritical if they were to creat hybrid games.

I hope you’re right, otherwise it’s a massive pass from me. Kinect only GoW = fail.
Even so, I wonder what could work and not just be a gimic. Voice commands would work, but that’s nothing that can’t be done a microphone – no need for a $200 (Australian) device. Hand gestures that involve you taking your hand off the controller could also work, but surely the lag inherent in Kinect’s hardware would make any such gesture less effective than just using the controller? Standing maybe, but again, who wants to stand and play GoW?
I’m struggling to see how Kinect could enhance GoW, although if they can manage it somehow I’ll be impressed.
