New Dreamcast Game ‘Sturmwind’ On The Way

Despite going out of production years ago, the Dreamcast is still fairly well supported.  Developer ‘Redspot Games’ has announced their new Dreamcast game ‘Sturmwind’ – an arcade shooter.  The game will have sixteen levels, over twenty bosses and “hundreds of enemies”.  It will also be region free.

It’s not every day we hear news on a new Dreamcast game, and it just so happens it’s one of my favourite genres.  I’ve seen some of Redspot’s work before and it all looked solid, so I will be dusting my Dreamcast down in preparation.  Some brief gameplay footage can be seen on this video from 2 mins 45 onwards.

  1. damn… i was thinking about sending thi in as a anews tip… :)
for people wondering how much money they make of games like this, hes talking about sales comparabvle to those of a middle-class WiiWare/XBLA game and that they just make enough money to keep going and its only possible because they are such a small team and are mainly publishing, promoting and distributing games. talking about sturmwind in particular he says it has been developed by a 2 man team over the course of 6 years.
