The UK price for the Killzone 3 ‘Helghast Special Edition Pack’ has been revealed, and it’s a wallet busting £112.  Exclusive to retailer ‘HMV’, you get the following bang for you buck:

Killzone 3: Helghast Special Edition Pack

  • Authentic Helghast Helmet replica opens to reveal art book, Super Voucher and Killzone 3 game.
  • Exclusive Cloaking Helghast Marksman action figure is 6.5” tall with multiple articulation points and will not be sold at retail
  • Includes bonus video content giving you a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the game.
  • Exclusive art book featuring imagery from the Killzone universe

Super Voucher includes:

  • Killzone 3 soundtrack and PS3 Dynamic Theme
  • Retro Map Pack featuring two of the most popular multiplayer maps from Killzone 2
  • Double XP for the first 24 hours of multiplayer gameplay
  • Full access to all weapons and abilities during the first 24 hours of multiplayer gameplay

To fund what is becoming an increasingly expensive looking year, TSA writers will be periodically selling off body parts to raise money.  You only need one liver right?  Oh…

  1. As lovely as it is, that’s just too high. £80 max I’d pay.

    • Mmm, have to agree with you there. Whilst the extras look incredibly well designed, its not really enough to justify an extra £80 – in my opinion anyway.

      • Well HMVs sales aren’t very good. 60 stores closing nationwide so they need the revenue from an exclusivity deal.

    • yes too high

    • It works out at about £80 in the US, and it would probably sell for £80 here too if it wasn’t exclusive. That’s the problem with exclusive offers – there is no competition so no reason to sell below the RRP. Take the Play.com exclusive Dead Space 2 Collectors Edition – from an RRP perspective it’s only £10 more, but in reality it’s £25 more because competition means many places sell the £49.99 normal edition at as low as £35…

Either way I’m personally not interested in these type of super editions – hopefully the standard Collectors Edition (Steelbook with the above ‘Super Voucher’) won’t be exclusive so will be available for a reasonable price compared to the normal version.

Also I’m guessing the RRP was decided at £109.99 pre the VAT increase, meaning we’ve ended up with the rather odd £112.33 price!

  2. Far too expensive for my tastes. It’s $129 in the US, which is £85 before VAT for us, so £102. I do appreciate that the full size bust should be very high quality, and it will be the size of your head, but that’s far too much even so.

Has nowhere got the Special Edition Tin available yet??

    • I wonder if I could claim this as a business expense…

  3. Too high for me, but that Helmet looks awesome!

  4. Agreed, USA price is equivalent to £80, rip off Britain :( I’ll wait until hmv sell these off cheap like game did with the gt5 signature edition ;)

  5. That is super cool, better than the Halo set, but way out of my price range. Oh, and I don’t want the game anyway. So there.

  6. So close to being affordable. I was expecting it to be more because these things tend to be extortionate (yet worth it). I think it’s time to sell the unwanted christmas gifts.

  7. I’m sold, yes I’m a sucker for that :P

  8. It looks good but that price is too high. Wouldn’t be able to afford it if it was any cheaper due to the amount of games that I want this year anyway.

  9. If its anything like the Special Editions HMV have had before it will be half price in a matter of weeks.

  10. Ouch. Picked up the GT5 Signature Edition at £130 at launch, so I think I’m set for fancy-pants special editions for the time being – not to say it isn’t appealing though.

    • I’m in the same boat. Forked out for the Signature GT5 on preorder only to see that drop in price – cant afford to do the same again.

      • Yep me too, especially when you believe it is a pre-order edition and there wouldn’t be excess copies so soon after launch!
