Back in October we brought you the first details on X-Men: Destiny, the latest game involving everyone’s favourite mutants. Other than the fact that it’s being developed by Silicon Knights, published by Activision, and allows you to take control of your own mutant, details have been scarce.
That’s all about to change, and to some extent, it already has. It seems issue #69 of OXM UK is about to spring new life to the hype of this game, and a few juicy nuggets of info have already found their way to the web. According to CVG, X-Men: Destiny is going to allow you to take control of the child of a “human zealot” that sees mutants as “nature’s greatest mistake”. From there, you’ll have a choice of three different candidates, whom have all been “officially integrated into the X-Men cannon.”
Furthermore, you’re going to be put up against many tough decisions throughout the game that will likely alter the traits of your character. Not only that, but you’re even going to be able to warp the powers of your own mutant by gathering the genes of other mutants. Pretty cool, eh? Another worthy tidbit is that Surge, Quicksilver, Gambit and Magneto are all set to appear.
At this point, we’re still not 100% certain which platforms are getting this game. It’s obviously coming to the Xbox 360, and the fact that Activision is publishing it tells us it should at least be coming to the PlayStation 3 as well. We’re sure as the latest issue of OXM starts to populate the news-stands, more information will find its way to the web, so stay tuned.
