A new trailer for Team Bondi and Rockstar’s new investigative drama LA Noire has appeared online – apparently ahead of time – and includes with it a release date for the long-awaited title: May 17th.
The new trailer, titled ‘Serial Killer’ and supposedly to be officially released this coming Monday, further details the game’s plot, which sees LA copper Cole Phelps on the trail of a murderer who leaves messages inscribed in his victims. Nice.
The new date has yet to appear at online retailers, but expect that to be all fixed up ready for the trailer’s official launch next week.
Update: the trailer has, unsurprisingly, be pulled from YouTube. It did exist, I promise. I’m not crazy. We’ll stick up the official one on Monday.
Update 2: it’s back!

So Many good games coming out. This year will have some big name casualties.

My policy for this year is to only buy new IP, and new rather than pre-owned. Bulletstorm and LA Noire both have me very interested.

But then you’ll miss LBP2, Mass Effect2 and Uncharted 3…

I reckon I can do it. Last year I bought almost entirely sequels – it’s time I gave the original games some suppport.

This honestly just looks better and better and better. It’s beginning to remind me ever so slightly of Zodiac (which I love). This is my number 2 behind Deus-Ex but it’s pushing for the number 1 slot.

So that’ll be the 20th for us then. Looking forward to it, great trailer as always.

Rockstar are gonna pull off another fantastic title yet again!
Can’t wait, this year is already going to be ridiculous with the amount of good releases. My backlog of games is already getting slightly OTT, and that’s without lbp killzone or fight night within the next few weeks!

Although there are almost an overwhelming amount of new games that I feel I should play, this along with Deus Ex are probably the only two I am guaranteed to get on release! I loved the whole hunting a serial killer mechanic on Heavy Rain, and this is looking great.

Can. Not. Wait. My most anticipated game of 2011 by a country mile.
Murder Mystery + Rockstar’s signature style and brilliant writing = a winning formula
Even with the long list of fantastic titles arriving this year I feel this stands out as an absolute must have

Along with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, this is the only game I’ll get on release. Definitely.

I’m a big fan of noire thrillers, but I’d like to see some more gameplay personally, especially the gunfights.

Me too. I haven’t seen any in-game, player controlled action yet (as far as I am aware)… just in-game rendered cutscenes.
Still, I am anticipating a great game. The face capture technology is brilliant and a very clever mechanic for a game that features interogation.
Could be a land-mark title, actually, if implemented well.
