Sony & Rockstar Issue Joint Statement

In a desperate attempt to appear multiple times on every website in the world, Sony and Rockstar have decided to kiss and make up and issue a joint statement on the official blog.

“We have received a very small number of customer support questions about PS3s overheating or shutting down while playing L.A. Noire,” says Patrick Seybold, corporate director of being corporate and speaking about corporate things.

“At this time, Rockstar Games and Sony can confirm that neither L.A. Noire or firmware update 3.61 are causing the PS3 hardware to overheat,” he said, somewhat contradicting what a Rockstar employee said yesterday.

Well, it’s not the weather, that’s for sure.

“We are both committed to working hard to find solutions to this and any issues that may arise,” continues Seybold, before listing a few ways to get in touch with both Rockstar and Sony.

If it’s not the game, and it’s not the firmware, that kinda only leaves the console user, doesn’t it?

  1. My 2008 40GB model died today after 2 nights of LA Noire, my PS is on a glass TV stand and is well air conditioned with nothing by it’s sides.

Probably coincidence but it does make you wonder, what with all the big influx of people complaining of YLOD after the latest FW and Noire.
