Right now Q Entertainment’s Child of Eden is only available for the Xbox 360, leaving PS3-only gamers out in the cold.
It’s not that a PS3 version isn’t coming, mind, the team are hard at work on it, and according to the studio’s James Mielke (via GiantBomb) it’s going to be “definitely worth the couple of months” wait.
Why? Well, it looks like it might have 3DTV features, and Move functionality. “There’s nothing I can really say about it,” said Mielke on a recent podcast, “people with PS3s, people with nice TVs, people with all kinds of control options… it’s going to be really cool.”
Even better news is that there’s no real reason why Rez HD wouldn’t make the leap to PS3. “We get a lot of emails about that,” he said, “and that may actually change in the future.”
“There’s nothing that we’ve actually started. But there’s no reason that we’re not doing a PS3 version, except that we only have a certain amount of resources.”
TheSixthAxis scored Child of Eden 9/10 here. Rez HD would get about one million/10.

If this does arrive with Move controls then it may tide me over till Auditorium finally releases in the EU in 20ffsIwantitnow….loved Rez, and the trailer for Eden looks v nice
DrNate86
Out of interest, how long is auditorium meant to be? I’m considering grabbing it on my US account but it is quite pricey.

Should look awesome in 3D as the 2D pics look great.
kivi95
I thought they said it would have move and 3D support?
gazzagb
Would of preferred it to be released at the same time, rather than waiting for features I’m never going to use. The ‘couple of months’ wait puts it in the middle of loads of other new games that are coming out, so I’ll probably give this a miss then.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Microsoft paid for it to be exclusive for a couple of months. That way it gets the publicity for being a Kinect game.

The were loads of reports ages ago that the devs were a bit surprised that Sony never sent them Move dev kits till very, very late in the development, the Kinect controls had a massive, massive head start as Sony appeared to have dropped the ball with this one
Hoopiness
Interesting, interesting stuff.

In all fairness, just because you wouldn’t use Playstation Move and 3D doesn’t mean others won’t.
gazzagb
No, but can’t it of just been patched in a few months later? Either way, it doesn’t really bother me now, removed it off my ‘list’.

Never really liked Rez. Then again I’m not liking Ocarina of Time anywhere near as much as I was hoping either :( I’m starting to think I just don’t like “good” games, lol.
Crocadillian
If they made both these games with 3D and Move support, then I will be re-buying both of them with the PS3 HDTV that comes out later this year :3.
DrNate86
I like the look of this, and new and interesting Move titles are always welcome!
Tuffcub
Im sure they said it would have move control when it was announced.
Watchful
Not when it was first announced but they’ve spoken about adding it before. And two months ago “surfaced” confirmed Move and 3D as well as the Microsoft-sponsored delay Ubisoft (the publisher) was imposing on the game’s PS3 release:

Ah there we go :)
bacon_nuts
Sounds good, shame I have neither 3D or Move, and the game doesn’t look like my kind of game.
taurus82
Okay, but does it have a music visualiser mode?!?
bunimomike
Utterly spot on. It’s crying out for it! I would love more visualisers on the PS3 and this seems perfect. Also, I’ll be waiting a long time for the price to come down but it might finally get me to buy a Move controller if they implement it well.

Invariably this will be better with 2
Shame it doesn’t just use the PSEye though as it looks the kind of immersive, dreamy experience that would be better controller-free, unlike other styles where buttons obviously offer advantages.
