Looks like there was some kind of printing error in the latest issue of OXM, so the publishers have put up a PDF of the section of the magazine in question for everyone to download.
Luckily for us, it’s four pages all about Aliens: Colonial Marines. We’ll not reproduce the pages here, we strongly suggest that Aliens fans (and anyone curious) download the full PDF for themselves.
There’s loads of new information in there, though. Confirmation of four player co-op is nice, but it appears Gearbox are expanding on the story by focusing on the backup that arrived too late in the original Aliens film.
That, we assume, is where the player comes in – exploring the Sulaco and LV-426 – as part of a Colonial Marines unit. You’ll have motion trackers (and can’t wield a gun at the same time) and apparently first impressions suggest the weapons are too weak.
Randy Pitchford says that he wants “to have the best looking engine that anyone’s ever seen for this type of game” – it sure does look nice in those screenshots.

Never liked Aliens but it would be quite interesting to see how this will go… hopefully not the same fate of Duke.

DNF was only finished off by Gearbox; 3D Realms were the ones who made the game in the first place.

Well the only thing interesting from gearbox as been Borderlands, of course Duke Nukem was just finished off but this seems to be getting delayed a lot?… along….with more many more Aliens it seems.

Something does bother me with this game and after seeing Aliens several times I remember that the planet exploded in a thermonuclear blast. I find it weird that they are annoucing this like some sort of sequel to the movie.
So how is it that these marines can suddenly return to the planet to kick alien ass. Considering that the explosion would have taken care of buildings, people and aliens alike.
It does not make any sense at all maybe the guys at gearbox should watch the movie again.

Actually, the planet itself wasn’t blown up, it was the terraformer that went sky high. Also, parts of the base would’ve possibly been left intact from the explosion, considering hown far away the terraformer was.

30 megaton explosion in the film when the terraformer goes the base is all connected to the machine by ventalation and piping its how the aliens get about the complex theres no way anything survived the only thing i can think of is there being more than 1 atmospheric processing plants on the planet and they rcived the broadcast as well about the aliens ship anywho it has to be authentic and they been talking to james cameron and one of the producers from the original film about the correct timeline.
cant wait for this it better be 100x better than AVP game that was bunk

There’s a massive article in OPM as well, it has a timeline of the 4 films and the game, helps makes sense where it fits in to the Aliens universe
