PSN Down From 5pm Tonight

The briefest of nuggets: the PlayStation Network will be down for maintenance from 5pm BST tonight until around 7pm, as confirmed by the official Twitter account.

No explanation as to why, but any overrun will affect our Brink Meet which kicks off an hour later.

PlayStation apologise for the short notice.

  1. PLEASE don’t stop the Brink meet from occurring, missed last weeks due to illness, and really looking forward to it. I also have black ops to play with my ex gf afterwards so don’t stay down for long…

    Good thing I just managed to splash €50 on PSN games to keep me occupied then, eh?
    Now, what to play… Limbo, Back to the Future, Burnout DLC, Sega Rally or Hamsterball? :)

    • Hamsterball is great but frustrating.

    • Just started ep.1 of Back To The Future and I must say that it’s great.

    • Burnout, of course.

    • I only had enough this week for one game, and went with BTTF. Really not regretting that choice

    • They should sneak it in, hiding it deep in the settings.

      • when they do implement it I expect them to read off a list of features and a disclaimer at the end.

    • Don’t panic – I’m sure it’ll be up in time.

      They usually give a much larger window than they need.

      • I’m going to be home a lot later from work than I expected so gonna have to remove myself. Sorry, have fun!

    • What’s the point of CGC? To get annoyed whilst playing on Bad Company while someone plays black ops? God!

  6. Just turned the PS3 on at 5.15. The store is down but the PSN seems fine and can play online

    • could this be the PSN store refresh that was rumoured?! Probably not.

  7. Every time there is psn maintenance I can still play online. Never once has it prevented me, always just prevents store access and account management

    • I now have no connections =(
      My hub has been playing up lately!

      • Read this about 6 o clock, logged on fine? My brother logged in aswell about half five, fine?

        Every time in the past 2 years when there’s a last minute announcement about psn being down I can always log in fine! (well apart from the easter downtime lol)

      • According to the US twitter, it’s just the Playstation Store.
