Fruit Ninja Kinect is coming out on the 10th of August. It’s the first downloadable game for Microsoft’s sensor accessory and it might just be the first must-have title.
I’ve been playing a preview build of it and can attest to three simple facts. Firstly, it’s a lot more fun than it sounds to slice up fruit by throwing hands at them. Secondly, it gets quite competitive when you let your wife have a go. Thirdly, you’ll have trouble moving your arms the next day if you play it for three hours solidly one evening because you simply can’t stand that you’re not the current high score holder.
Here’s the video I made to show how it works.

Great to see some original video content on TSA.
I’ve been interested in this for a while as I love the iOS game. Glad to see it’s quite accurate.

If this was just an article I wouldn’t have given it half the time I just did. Videos FTW!

it actually looks like fun, how long would you really play it for though?
though this did prompt me to download the lite version of the Ios version.
i keep cutting the bloody bombs, i get so caught up in the swishy slicey noise i cut before i check what it is.
this could be ported to move as well couldn’t it?it just tracks your hands so a couple of move wands could be used surely.
who’s publishing anyway?

it could technically work with just one move wand, as the iOS and android versions you just use a finger on screen. Looks cool though, and that vid was great!

it has everything here minus the cartoony graphics, plus an actual sword with augmented reality, plus really good graphics and physics, plus a bunch of other games, plus no lag.

The start the party game is similar but i like the realistic rendering of the fruit here.

It’s a part of the Microsoft Summer of Arcade, in past years that meant a time of (at least limited) exclusivity. I see no reason why it couldn’t track a Move wand and pretend it’s a samurai sword though…
As for how long you’d play it, I’ve played several hours already just for fun and my wife has just asked if she can have another go tonight! It’s not complex, by any means, but it is fun :)
