Say hello to Sony’s entry level handheld device, the PSP E-1000. As reported earlier this week, it’ll be priced at €99, is for Europe only, and is slightly larger than the PSP 3000, with a matte finish for the shell.
It also ditches the buttons below the screen for a touch sensitive strip, and does away with WiFi.

To me, it looks horribly cheap, like those chinese knock-offs.

I dont like the front part with start/select buttons. looks very tacky

The re-positioning of the PSP in the market place makes sense to me, it’s not aimed at readers of TSA and the intent is clear from the outset. Will wait and see what 99euros translates to in £. I noticed that a PSPGo is dipping under £100 right now too.

Only one stick and no Wi-fi means a probable no for me. Single stick was why i never got a PSP in the first place..

PSP-3000 is still the best.

Is the touch sensitive strip button replacement cheaper thatn Wi-Fi chip?

pretty much exactly what I was thinking..

Call me crazy, but I think I’d rather have a Go.

Mate finish is cool. Would like a mate finish tv. Would like a mate finish to my car as oppose to metallic too. Ill get my coat….

I really hope that the PSP E-1000(reminds me of The Terminator) doesn’t reflect on the screen. As it is annoying trying to play a game on a portable console and all you can see is your own reflection. It doesn’t look bad, it looks cheap but not bad.
If i had the cash, i would probably get it as i would have little use for the wifi and there are some excellent PSP games that i have had my eye on for the past few months. :)

oh snap! it looks like a PSP knockoff! And that touch thing in the bottom is so ugly… I was really going to buy one, has i have no need for wifi… but now i don’t know if a second hand one wouldn’t be a better choice. And a lighter one.
