A press release from Sony Middle East has announced a real-life ‘Uncharted: Treasure Hunter’ specifically for gamers in the Middle East, but as it claims ‘contestants will be competing against adventurers from across Europe, the Middle East, and the USA’ then we can hope that the press release from Sony Europe and Sony America will be arriving shortly.
The competition sounds rather exciting with a select few traveling to the Arabian desert, trekking across the sand dunes of Aqaba on a quest for hidden treasure.
Traveling by jeep, by camel and on foot, the fortune hunters will follow a series of clues to uncover hidden artifacts, picking up treasure along the way that they can later exchange for prizes.
The adventure will take them through the stunning landscape of the Arabian Desert, set against the majestic backdrop of the Seven Pillars of Wisdom.
They will climb up to the Al Shallaleh waterfall, pass the Khazali Canyon and stop off at T.E. Lawrence’s house, facing a different challenge at every turn.
Survival expert John Sullivan has helped creating the puzzles and there is €10,000 worth of prizes at stake.
Hopefully we will get something from Sony Europe later today.

Just came back from a summer holiday there a month ago. Over 40 degrees, it was too hot, nice though. Sounds like a cool comp.
