Creat to Release ‘Test Yourself’ PSN Bundle, TSA Gets a Sneak Peak

Creat Studios has announced that an EU bundle pack is to be made available for PSN title, Test Yourself. Released on September 28th, you get the original Test Yourself, along with the Attention and Memory add-ons for € 5.99.

Developed by a team of professional psychologists and counsellors, the goal of Test Yourself is to provide users with an affordable, professional assessment of various aspects of their personalities and psychological abilities. This is done via a number of tests and, once completed, you are offered tips on how to improve.

Creat were kind enough to let us try out the bundle, which consists of several sections.

Nervous System

  • V-Reaction – This consists of pressing various buttons when presented with a visual cue.
  • A-Reaction – The same as above, but responding to an audio cue.
  • Tapping – Tap the X button as fast as you can for 40 seconds. The world’s longest QTE?
  • Brownian – Move a red dot across the screen, avoiding the black dots which increase in speed.
  • Odds-Even – Press L1 when an odd number comes up, R1 for even.

Intelligence

  • Lability – Answering questions correctly, as quick as possible.
  • Intellect V1,2 and 3 – These deal with the ability to handle information, discover relations and collate information.

Memory

  • Mapping – Memorise different mazes and lead a fly out of them.
  • Memory limit – This is for short term memory. Memorize button sequences.
  • Imprinting, Express Memory, Flash Test – Not unlocked yet due to being told I was stupid.

Attention

  • Correcting Probe – Letters scroll down the page, and you have to pick out two in particular.
  • Matrix – This sees a mixed up grid of numbers, 1-25, in red and blue. You have to quickly pick out the numbers in order, and then do it in reverse.
  • Daltronic – A word will come up, saying a colour. If the colour of the word matches the text you need to press L1, if it doesn’t, R2.

Test Yourself is certainly an interesting experience, albeit a totally sobering one for myself. It turns out I was hit with the stupid stick, beaten with the slow stick, but that’s ok because my memory is so poor that I won’t remember it all anyway!

The bundle is hard to just outright recommend to everyone, but if you do like this type of thing then it’s certainly work a look. Just be aware that there are still three more pieces of DLC to come before you have the full package.

  1. I like the sound of this.

  2. seems interesting, good for the competetive families out there!

  3. I’ve already got them as they came out. It’s a nice diversion for a few minutes. The one that really got me raving made though was the Browning trophy. If you play it, you will know my pain. Got it in the end!

  4. It’s not something that i would enjoy. So i’m going to skip it entirely. That and my R/L buttons can be a bit stiff at times.:)

So it’s basically the Proffess Layton of the PS3. ;)

  5. Correcting Probe? *Shivers*

  6. Not something I would buy.

  7. Interesting that no other tsa staff volunteered to test this :D

    • I’ll play anything :oD

      • Anything you say. >:) *prepares a list of crappy games and a certain game for him to play for a TSA feature*

  8. i’ve always been dubious of any real scientific merit in these things.
    they can be fun though.
mind you, they do work best with a touch screen i reckon.

and what on earth does the tapping test measure anyway?
that’s a purely mechanical thing you can do with practically zero thought.
what part of your personality or psychology will that test?

i’m typing this with my left hand while tapping with my right index finger.

    see, virtually no thought required.
in fact i made more mistakes using two hands to type. ^_^

    • It measure the nervous system and reactions :oD

Pissed myself laughing at that! Dont know i could handle that much judgement and rejection from a game! Haha!

  10. Might be worth a look if there’s ‘complete bundle’ at some point in the future (once all the DLC is released, obviously).
