Ex-Mega Man Producer Working On New 3DS Title

Former Capcom ace and legendary designer Keiji Inafune has unveiled Kaio: King of Pirates, a new action RPG for 3DS.

Kaio is being developed by Intercept, Inafune’s newly formed studio. Inafune will be taking on directoral duties for the game, working in conjunction with Marvelous AQL who will publish the title.

The game is aimed at younger players and will star a penguin pirate as well as a host of other anthropomorphic characters in a high seas adventure.

King of Pirates is planned for a 2012 release.

    It looks like a sort of Pokemon meets Wind Waker meets Age of Empires. I wonder what gameplay’s like. It’s good to see Inafune working on a new project after stupid Capcom cancelled the interesting and promising Mega Man Universe.
