Cliffhanger Productions has announced that it is working on Shadowrun Online.
The developer, who made Jagged Alliance Online, has published a newsletter with some basic information.
“Here at Cliffhanger Central we have been busy sticking it to the megacorps and trying to go solo on developing the game. So far we have gained at least enough creds to go into pre-production and will kick off our development next month… We are going to work closely with Catalyst (American Shadowrun publisher) and Pegasus (German Shadowrun publisher) and may have some nifty surprises for you further down the line.”
Cliffhanger Productions also say that they will be working closely with the creators, writers and artists of the previous game editions. The Shadowrun series is set in the near future of a fictional universe which has a lot of inspiration from cyber punk. The RPG itself first appeared in 1989 with the first video game appearing in 1993 on the SNES. The last video game iteration released in 2007 on PC and Xbox 360.
An image of an early game build has also been released.

Despite it reviewing pretty poorly, I’ve never put more hours into an online shooter than I did with Shadowrun on the 360. Awesome team-based game, almost like CS with a fantasy based twist. Will definately check this one out :D

this looks like a twin stick shooter.
not as bad as that lame fps from a few years back but it’s still not the proper shadowrun rpg many people were hoping for.

Awesome, loved the SNES game. Superb source material, much like Syndicate or Deus Ex. Like Hazelam I was hugely disappointed with the 360 game.
