A list has surfaced (from Kotaku, via AndriaSang) that shows which PlayStation Vita games will require an additional memory card, and which ones won’t. It’s worth mentioning that it’s also been revealed this morning that the games won’t give you the option: those that save to their own dedicated space on the game card will always do so.
Games that save to the internal memory:
And the games that require an external memory card:
Remember that these are the Japanese titles, although we wouldn’t expect much to change with regards to the technical requirements when the console hits Western shores next February. And of course, if you download a game from the Store (rather than buying it on a physical card) you’ll obviously be saving to an external card, regardless of the lists above.
“Games that require a Memory Card to save may do so for various reasons,” says AndriaSang. “For example, they may install data on the card for Live Area or for future content expansion. When a game says that it requires a Memory Card to save, you actually need to have a Memory Card inserted from the start in order to play the game.”

“Uncharted”
Well that’s another god knows how much down the drain.

Funny, I’ve no interest in any of the ones that save to internally. Quite a neat diversion, but it means I’ll need a 32GB one, huh?

Yip I’m the same. Though that might change when the UK list is revealed but I very much doubt it.

I’m hoping the proprietory Vita ones will have faster transfer speeds than the duos.

That’s a bit crap that you can’t play the games if you don’t have a memory card. A bit of a cheap tactic but meh, I’ll still be getting one no doubt.

If they cost the same as the current mem cards it wouldn’t be too bad but to charge £18 for a 4Gb is a bit much.

I think it’s a bad move having some games that need an extra mem card and some games that don’t. Should have been one or the other for consistency imo.

Another thing to note is that does games that saves on the internal memory won’t have support for DLC.

Well it’s a pretty expensive price in Japan, Think it’s about $130 but we all no that everything is more expensive over their and we will most probably see some third-party ones too.

Sounds a little odd, I don’t really get why, but oh well. I wish they could use standard cards though.. All companies using their own type just gets annoying.
