EA has posted a new list on their website detailing server shutdowns.
The idea behind it is to cut down on server costs and EA stated that it would be affecting less than 1% of their peak time online users.
Still, there are a few games in there that might annoy some of you to see, including MMA which requires an online pass and was released just 18 months ago.

I would be bloody annoyed if i paid for an online pass only for the servers to get closed. I thought the entire purpose of Online Passes was to help with the costs?
Surely, it would be best to wait a few years before shutting them down unless the game has bombed or if a sequel to that game has come out.

Some of those games on the the list look like they should have gone a while back, but then if they were still active I suppose…..
They are going to have to seriously look into the online pass system, and sell them as time limited for a week, a month or whatever, due to unknown sell by dates!!
I wonder which is the longest serving PS3 game server. I’d plump for Burnout Paradise and there’s no sign of it being shut down any time soon either!
