Nomura Hints At The World Ends With You Sequel

Tetsuya Nomura, the creative force behind the Kingdom Hearts series, has made a few tantalising comments which suggest that a new The World Ends With You game could be on the way.

Several TWEWY characters are set to cameo in the upcoming 3DS RPG Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance and this has caused questions to rise about the possibility of a sequel. In an interview with Nintendo Dream, Nomura dropped a cryptic hint that publisher Square Enix decided to add voice acting for the character of Rhyme in KH:DDD “out of consideration of the future of The World Ends With You series.”

If that hint wasn’t enough for you, when asked directly about the franchise’s future, Nomura dropped what we in the business call a ‘biggie’.

“Regarding The World Ends With You, I can’t say anything at present… (laughs). But there probably is something.”

  1. The world ends with you! …Now you!

  2. Awesome, but I kinda hope this is going to also come out for the PS Vita. They probably wont want to waste the new KH game engine though, which looks pretty incredible considering the hardware limitations.

  3. I’m just waiting for Square Enix to take their crazy franchise naming policy to its ultimate conclusion with the release of Universal Heat Death II.
