NEOGEO Games Heading To PS Vita

NEOGEO games will be appearing on the PlayStation Vita, according to a new post on the Hong Kong PlayStation site recently.

“We’re very excited to announce that 16 NEOGEO titles will be available on PS Vita starting on 30 May,” it says, promising future titles down the line.

This is the first time that NEOGEO Station games have been playable on PS Vita.

The list includes:

  • ALPHA MISSION 2
  • METAL SLUG
  • ART OF FIGHTING
  • SAMURAI SHODOWN
  • BASEBALL STARS 2
  • SHOCK TROOPERS
  • BASEBALL STARS PROFESSIONAL
  • SUPER SIDEKICKS
  • FATAL FURY
  • THE KING OF FIGHTERS ’94
  • LEAGUE BOWLING
  • THE KING OF FIGHTERS ’95
  • MAGICIAN LORD
  • THE KING OF FIGHTERS ’96
  • METAL SLUG 2
  • WORLD HEROES

No word on when these will be available outside of Asia, yet and no word of whether they’ll be entirely new versions on the Store or if they’ll simply activate the PSP versions to work on Vita.

  1. I may be slaughtered for this, but I never got round to playing these on PS3, won’t be bothered with the Vita versions.

    It’s not retro gaming I’m not interested in- I have the Sega Mega Drive Collection, and love it.

    And I’m still waiting on my PS1 Collection being activated. Hope it’s done at E3- it’d be great to finally start Final Fantasy VIII or IX at Euro 2012.

    • PS1 collection for me too. Can’t wait to get the old FF titles on my Vita

    • I really want that too, I’ve bought so many.

    • Yes, I bought a bunch of FF titles with the main intention being playing them on the Vita. C’mon Sony!

      • Trophies for the NG games. There isnt any on the PS3, would be nice to see them on the vita.

      • Strange that Sega can get trophies yet SNK didn’t bother.

  3. Few of the NG games was nice but quite expensive compared to the similar Mega Drive games, because it was discounted with Plus it was the only reason to actually go for two of the games. Also the PSP and PS3 should be both cross compatible I believe. Buying the same twice is stupid.

  4. I bought a Neo Geo PSP game last month… On the Vita… So is this new, will the version be different?

  5. I’d like to see the Vita getting more retro games. Seems the DS is so why not not bring thm over to the Vita.

    (Think Master System games as well as Mega Drive type games).

  6. Do Megadrive games work on Vita? I’d quite like to finish Sonic 1 and 2.

    • No, but you can buy the Sega Mega Drive Collection for €10 in the PSP section of the Vita store.
      It has Sonic 1 & 2, and a bunch of other great games too.

    • I want to wait until it gets it own or maybe updated to work on Vita, SMC is fine but the PS3/360 version just has many more games and Sonic….
