Counter-Strike Global Offensive Release Date, Price Announced

How about some news that isn’t from Microsoft’s E3 conference, which is going on right now? Yeah? Well, Valve have announced the release date and price of the latest instalment in the Counter-Strike franchise.

It’ll be released in just over two months, on the 21st of August and it’ll only set you back $15, which should translate to anywhere from £10-15.

The beta is still currently underway, though Valve announced a few months ago that they were dropping the cross platform play option – so you won’t be able to play against PC players if you have a PS3.

  1. Is that just the PC version price?

  2. Will there be a subscription then? Very competitive pricing at £15.

    • Well it’s a Download only game.

      • And it’s developed by them, published by them and distributed by them (Steam)
So all of that 15 dollars goes directly back in the Valves pocket since retailers or publishers don’t get any of the share.

  3. Really cant see a subscription, the community is massive and won’t pay it.

  4. I like that price.
Hopefully that’ll be the PSN price as well.
