Kazuo Hirai Steps Down As SCE’s Representative Director and Chairman

[drop2]Possibly in relation to this, Sony Computer Entertainment have just announced that Kazuo Hirai will be stepping down as the company’s Representative Director and Chairman.

He remain on the board part time, but will now become President and CEO of Sony Corporation as a whole despite leaving Sony Computer Entertainment’s executive rank.

Howard Stringer has also retired from his part time role on the board, and a number of other changes have occurred during the appointment and retirement process.

Andrew House is still Representative Director, President and Group CEO.

    Being president is probably enough work.

  3. Interesting to see. It’s not like his time there (in this particular position) could have much impact so I wonder if it was for personal reasons. Regardless, I’d like to see someone take some bold steps with Sony and turn the bloody thing profitable! Sheesh.
