Developed by Renegade Kid, Dementium is perhaps one of the most over-looked video game series to have featured on the original Nintendo DS. Combining survival horror with first person shooting a healthy dose of puzzle-solving, it wasn’t your typical child-friendly slice of shovelware yet proved popular enough to warrant a sequel.
Released in 2010, Dementium II was a major improvement over the original game, featuring a more intriguing plot not to mention tighter gameplay. Despite being great games, trends in handheld gaming and a lack of press coverage probably did little to boost sales for the Austin-based outfit who, in association with Memetic Games, now have plans to bring Dementium II to PC and Mac users.
Instead of being a direct port, a number of assets seem to have been spruced up for the game’s new audience. Whether or not Memetic will flesh out the game with more zones or altered mechanics remains to be seen though seems probable, especially if Dementium II is due to get head to head with horror classic Amnesia and its upcoming sequel.

That’s a perfectly decent pair of boxers ruined. Thanks!

That’s odd…practically a new game, surely? Since they’ll have to remake everything from scratch, unless of course they just upgrade the low-res DS stuff…odd.

Looks pretty cool. Will keep an eye out for this.

Oh good, I had the first Dementium on my DSi, one of the first games I bought for it (along with Pokemon, Zelda and Scribblenauts, it’s basically all I played on it) and I was quite impressed with it.
Games like Dementium and Metroid have also convinced me that there’s no need for a 2nd stick on the 3DS for shooters if the devs use the touch screen like a mouse in a FPS on PC.
