Sony Offering £25,000 For PS Mobile Game Development

Sony has set up an exciting new initiative, dubbed PlayStation Pioneers, in which the platform holder is offering a prize of £25,000 to assist with the development a potential PlayStation Mobile game.

The deal, in cooperation with Creative England and the Birmingham Science Park, will give smaller developers the opportunity to pick up a cool £25,000 for their games concept and the chance to work alongside Sony’s External Development Studio (XDev).

It’s for UK-based devs only, with the goal being to take a concept through to a playable ‘vertical slice’ by next Summer. The deadline for submissions is the end of this month, so you’ll need to be very quick if you’re interested at all.

Five finalists will then be selected to exhibit on the 13th and 14th November 2012 in Birmingham, and present their concepts to a panel. The winning entry will be awarded the £25,000 prize money, and be announced on the 14th.

This is a seriously great opportunity for anyone curious about getting their game onto a Sony platform. For more details click here.
