Travellers Talers are fast becoming the surrogate mothers of the video game world, happy to jump into bed with pretty much any franchise and pop out a new game nine months later. The latest suitor is comic giant Marvel who have slipped the developers twenty quid for a bit of hot brick building down a dark alleyway.
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is a new story in which Nick Fury calls upon Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Spider-Man, Wolverine and “many more” to save Earth from Loki and Galactus. The game will launch on all consoles, including the PS Vita, and will have over 100 characters.
Sacre bleu! The French are rather upset that the 4,500-sq m Virgin Megastore flagship outlet on the Champs Elysees in Paris is to close. You are probably just as surprised as I am to learn that Virgin Megastores till exist, they pulled out of the U.K. and U.S. many years ago. The Beeb reports that a French newspaper ran the headline “Funeral march for megastores” and another blamed “merciless economic Darwinism” which is a long winded way of saying “iTunes”.
Another company feeling the squeeze is the rather huge Play.com who have released a statement: “Moving forward we are intending to focus exclusively on our successful marketplace, which is our main business area, and to phase out the direct retail part of our business.”
In the future Play.com will no longer sell products but act as a storefront for many other retailers, the company is blaming the move on the ending of Low Value Consignment Relief allowing items less than £15 to be sold to the UK VAT-free.
The PS3 version of Double Fine’s The Cave will arrive this month and also splashing across new platforms is Derrick The Deathfin who will be landing on other consoles/pcs/tablets/egg whisks “sooner than you could possibly imagine.” Meanwhile Bane and Lex Luthor have been announced as playable characters in Injustice: Gods Amongst Us.
The voice actor behind Fallout 3 radio DJ ThreeDog has tweeted “To all my #Fallout3 and #ThreeDog fans: There may be more of the Dog coming! Fingers crossed!” It is rather late to release any DLC for the game so… Fallout 4? A Fallout Movie adaptation?

A brief view of the multiplayer component from Tomb Raider can be seen in the video above, skip to 4m 35s, it looks surprisingly good.
For some reason asking a bloke who left the Wipeout developer Sony Liverpool two years previously if there will be a new WipEout game is omgstopthepressheadlinenews. Stay tuned for my new feature for TSA in which I ask my Mum what the future holds for the Diablo series, she is quite good at guessing things too.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 on Wii-U? “Sorry to disappoint you but no chance,” tweets  the producer of the game, Dave Cox.
A Chinese father has taken a rather novel approach to cure his son’s gaming addiction – he hired virtual assassins to kill him in-game. Worried by what he perceived to be an addiction Mr. Feng found some online bandits who would stalk and kill his son’s character at every opportunity.
His son became rather puzzled and confused as to why he was constantly failing at games he thought he had aced. He then asked his assailants why they continually harassed him and they revealed that they had been sent by his father.

And finally, a new but rather short trailer for Remember Me.

LEGO Marvel game!! Possible Fallout 4 references!! Awesome news all round.

Not sure I’m sold on the Tomb Raider multiplayer (which looks very much like the Uncharted multiplayer). The TR demo I played at EGX seemed great, which had a lot to do with you feeling isolated with a real need to survive and solve puzzles. I can imagine the multiplayer will be full of people mindlessly sprinting around (with that horrible change of camera) spamming their weapons, if it is like Uncharted – just my opinion of course. If it is the case at least the game offers a different change of pace, but I’m not sure it’ll be for me.

From the brief footage that I’ve just seen and the few matches I’ve played in UC2, I’d say it looks like the MP Uncharted should have been. Not interested in the MP of Tomb Raider, though.

I dont think there has ever been LEGO game DLC, has there?
Youles
I’m think the LotR Lego game has skins or character DLCs, but that’s pretty recent.
Forrest_01
Lego Batman 2 had a couple of extra characters too, but it’s pretty much ‘throwaway’ dlc as far as i am concerned.

I will be getting Lego Marvel Super Heroes.
Oh yes, it will be mine.

since when did Play have any retail part of their business?
oh, they don’t mean brick and mortar stores, but selling stuff themselves.
but wouyldn’t that VAT thing only affect the low priced items, a lot of the stuff they sell goes for more than that, most of the games for example.
and Remember Me is looking real nice.
if they take their cues for the combat from the Batman games then it could be pretty good.
could be a big one if handled right.
i have to say, i’m really not sure hiring people to virtually stalk your kids is a good idea.
Lego Marvel could be pretty cool though, there hasn’t be a really bad game in this series yet has there?
i wonder if there’s any possibility for a DC/Marvel crossover game.
teflon
Well yes, but CDs, DVDs, BDs, T-shirts etc. etc. all fall well under £15 a lot of the time (or at least after a few weeks). Similarly for multi-buy offers and so forth.
So whilst they do have higher priced items, they could play the system with pricing on lower items and save themselves the VAT.
Dunks
Love that story about the father who hired those virtual assassins…
Remember me looks interesting… I just remember seeing a gameplay walk through and the player having to continually go into his menu… that put me off a little… seem to take you out of the game quiet a bit…

Lego Marvel and The Cave arriving this month is fantastic news!

Possible Fallout 4? Take my wallet and my sentimental pizza slice. I need that in my life.
Lego Marvel Super Heroes? The perfect antidote for a relaxation starved wife.
Today is a good news day.

Personally I’m still waiting for Lego Die Hard.
RudeAwakening

LEGO: Madonna The Videogame .She could splat bad guys to death with her pointy breasts

I really hope Obsidian are developing Fallout 4 as NV was excellent whereas 3 was just an average game that i enjoyed. But was almost unplayable on the PS3 unlike NV. But it is most likely Bethesda who are developing it and will be set on the east coast as it would be impossible for 3 dog to travel to the west coast.
I’m not surprised Play are withdrawing from the retail sector as they have gone downhill during the past few years and the last time i looked, their prices weren’t decent.
