Deep Silver have announced that Metro: Last Light will be released in Europe on May 17.
The game, available on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, will see some additional development work “to make the game even better” and is, according to the press release, the perfect balance between extra attention to detail and not keeping eager fans waiting too long.
“We won’t leave that time unexploited and will work closely together with 4A Games to make the game even better. It will receive all the attention it deserves,” said Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch Media, who now own the IP.
A release date has been up in the air since Koch took over the Metro franchise. Menno van der Bil, International Commercial Director at Deep Silver said that Last Light won’t be the last title in the series, either – “we can assure [fans] that we have a lot more coming their way with the franchise.”
Last Light’s plot was written by Dmitry Glukhovsky, who wrote the original Metro 2033 novel. We previewed the game way back in 2011 – click here for that.

Something else to look forward to,ever since you guys reported they are making a second one i’ve been waiting patiently for the announcement of a release date and here we are.
The first Metro was pretty good,it was pretty cheap when i got to buying it.I didn’t know what to expect apart from what had been mentioned on here,so when i did play it i was pleasantly surprised.
I was looking forward to this but not sure I’ll have time what with all the games coming thick and fast :/
That’s my birthday, could be a sign that I will like it, perhaps I should buy it.
Is it just me or does this Metro guy look a lot like a Helgast?
I’m looking forward to this.
My nerves are still shot from playing the first one.
I’m glad i’m not the only one who felt that way.

Ha! Titz. Anyway, just finished Metro 2033 a week or so ago and that was very good. I’m looking forward to more from the Metro world. Miserably, oppressive and nerve-shredding as it is. :-)
Never played the first one, but really looking forward to this.
