Official Gran Turismo Website Overhauled. Coincidence?

Amidst persistent rumours of a sixth mainline Gran Turismo title (now expected to be revealed in a matter of weeks according to rumour) comes a total overhaul of the official Gran Turismo website [via], starting with the Japanese version and working outwards.

The Hong Kong site lists the changes in English, which include a removal of the gallery and press assets sections and most of the information relating to Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Some elements of Gran Turismo TV support are gone too.

According to the site, the revamp outside of Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan will occur at a later date, with a promise of “the latest information regarding Gran Turismo” after the site renewal. That’s probably just the regular news updates though.

As to whether this represents a spring clean before any reveal of a new game is anyone’s guess. The neatly arranged racks of ‘products’ would take some jiggling to get GT6 in there, but regardless of platform, we do know Polyphony are working on a new game.

  1. Aww man, Tourist Trophy, that takes me back.
I wish they’d make a new version of that. It was awesome, and I’m not even a big bike fan.

    • Have to agree with that apart from NOT bein a bike fan.i cant understand why polyphony wont make it.petition starts here :-)

    • I forgot about that, it was good.
I wonder if they’ll have bikes in GT6?

  2. Weren’t there supposed to be bikes in GT5, or was that 4 ??

    • I think there was talk of them having them working in 5 or something similar but they never said anything about having them in for release or as DLC.

    • They compromised and went for karts, although bikes were on the agenda once (being discussed anyway).

    • GT HD the PSN game had bikes. But development on that title never went anywhere.

  3. The important question is of course: how many new Mazda MX5s will there be?

    • No, Skylines since they’re like the best Japanese import. pfft Mazda move along.

      • Yeah, weren’t there like 50 Nissan Skyline variations in GT5?

  4. That reminds me… I’ve got a 24hr race to finish!
