Sonic: Lost World is coming to Wii U and 3DS later this year, though for all we know they could decide to release it on other platforms at the eleventh hour and delay it for six months. It’s not like that hasn’t happened before.
Anyway, enough of my bitter resentment about that whole thing – IGN seems to have the scoop on the first trailer for the game! And it actually looks… okay. It seems to blend the recent 3D Sonic games with some side-scrolling action and gravity defying moves, like Super Mario Galaxy up a tower.
It could actually be quite fun, hopefully they take some inspiration from the Sonic Adventure games and other Nintendo exclusive Sonic titles such as Colours in order to do the series justice once again. A YouTube version of the trailer is embedded below.

Looks ok. Bit like Pitfall on Android/iOS though

It does look like Galaxy, but let’s hope it’s another good Sonic game. I always feel a bit withheld whenever a new Sonic game is revealed, but they have been pretty good lately. Still waiting for a truly Mario-rivaling great though.

I think it looks good, it could actually be a good Sonic game.

Feels like it’s the start of another downfall for a Sonic title. They always seem to look great when their announced, and then Sega reveal a few details and it gets a bit shakier. Then there’s more gameplay and a demo which seem just about acceptable, before the final game crushes fans back into the ground.

This does remind me of Mario games a little bit, but that’s definitely a good thing. I’m actually looking forward to this, which hasn’t been the case for a Sonic game since Sonic Adventure 1 / 2 (I’m a sucker for Chao breeding…).
