News Snatch: Battlefield 4, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes And Mew-Genics

Rather sparse pickings today, not so much a News Snatch as a Gaming Related Videos From The Internet Snatch.

Let us begin with the news that Capcom have released the Street Fighter documentary previously only available with the hugely expensive Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Edition. It’s over and hour long so I suggest grabbing some popcorn.

“We are very proud to join our partner, LEVEL-5, to announce that the critically acclaimed role-playing game series, Ni no Kuni, has approximately reached the 1.4 million units sold worldwide,” said Olivier Comte, Senior Vice-President at NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe.

“The franchise has been very well received in EMEA and as a result of its quality, has reached an amazing number of sales for a JRPG.”

Lars Gustavsson, Creative Director at DICE, was asked if the PlayStation 4 version of Battlefield 4 would include to ability to play the game on a PS Vita using remote play, a feature that Sony have insisted all non-Move titles would have.

“That is the intent. That’s something we’re looking into and working on to see if we can guarantee it,” he said.

It has also been revealed that the game will have test range for the vehicles.

“If you want to learn to fly a helicopter you can get in there and you can find the settings that work best for you,” said Lars. “And then start doing some stunt flights just to feel safe before you go out and get the responsibility of a bunch of other people sitting in your helicopter, so I truly hope that this will help people feel more safe about trying out the whole battlefield.”

And now… this.

Controller news! PlayStation 4 will support four devices whilst Xbox One will support eight. So that’s four for four, eight for one, which coincidentally is the number for my local Pizza Hut.

Stan Lee has joined the cast of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes.

Tecmo Europe is holding a number of giveaways on it’s Facebook page, UK gamers who purchased Dead Or Alive 5 have chance to win a set of boobmats (mouse mats with boobs).

As you can see I’m struggling for anything remotely news worthy today so I have decided to Google ‘PlayStation’ plus a random word in an attempt to find something vaguely newsworthy.

Today’s word is ‘Butter’ and the first result in Google is for a link on the U.S. PlayStation store for a movie called… wait for it… Butter!

In small-town Iowa, an adopted girl (Yara Shahidi of SALT, TV’s IN THE MOTHERHOOD) discovers her talent for butter carving and finds herself pitted against an ambitious local woman (Jennifer Garner of VALENTINE’S DAY, TV’s ALIAS) in their town’s annual contest. Also starring Ty Burrell (TV’s MODERN FAMILY, DAWN OF THE DEAD), Ashley Greene (TWILIGHT FRANCHISE), Hugh Jackman (X-MEN FRANCHISE), Olivia Wilde (TRON: LEGACY, TV’s HOUSE), Alicia Silverstone (CLUELESS), and Kristen Schaal (TV’s 30 ROCK).

So there is something you did not know until today, there is a movie about butter carving and it’s got Wolverine in it.

And finally, as a teaser for the forthcoming game, Team Meat have released a cut scene from Mew-Genics which will be available for Windows, iOS and Android next year.

As the jazzy music plays, cats boff each other and baby cats get pooped out of bottoms, it’s certainly unique.

  2. Why can’t I post a reply?!! It contains a Soundcloud link. Is that prohibited?

    • Yeah, it was getting caught up in the spam filter.

  3. The test range in BF4 is a great idea, let’s hope people use it though!

    • definitely, alot of people have been asking for this since the dawn of time, and finally they have delivered. A tutorial would have been better, or even playing against bots, but this will do. It will help a lot of newcomers and those who never get a chance to try stuff, due to the veterans taking you out instantly.
