Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze will face a delay into February 2014, Nintendo have revealed. The title was originally expected to release this November, aside The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds and Super Mario 3D World.
The reason for the delay is simply because they need more development time to make the game as good as possible, president Satoru Iwata revealed. He apologised for the delay, but this means that the Wii U misses out on one of its biggest titles this year.
There’s still a good line-up for Nintendo however, with The Wind Waker HD out this Friday on Wii U and Sonic: Lost World following on October 18th, before Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies on October 24th for 3DS, Wii Party U on October 25th, Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games on November 5th, Super Mario 3D World for Wii U on November 29th and then finally Braverly Default for 3DS on the 6th of December.
It’s a busy few months for Nintendo, as you can see. Other than The Wind Waker HD, my personal pick is Super Mario 3D World, which you can also see a new trailer for below.

Nice to see a few decent titles appearing for the Wii U. Wasn’t my cup of tea and sold the console within a month but would not want to see Nintendo disappear over it.

What a joke! Donkey Kong was like almost the only reason I bought the wiiU :/. But I guess I would not have had time to buy it this year anyway with PS4 coming up in November.

I can’t see how Wii U will remotely compete this Christmas because of that – PS3 has had more high profile and high quality releases in the last year and is a lot cheaper than Wii U. If you’re looking for a new console PS4 isn’t a huge amount more. It’s a shame though because I think the gamepad is great!

Mario 3d same day as Ps4 arrival seems really strange to me. Had it come out in December it would be day 1 for me. I can’t see me buying it before Xmas really but I really do want Mario 3d.
