PlayStation Tweet Teases New Frictional Games Title

The PlayStation Europe Twitter account tweeted a link to a strange website today called somasystems.org. The site hosts a file numbered 2656 and called Vivarium, which itself holds the following 5 minute video.

The video was posted by Frictional Games, known for the Penumbra and Amnesia horror titles. Much of the video just shows some early set up of the mysterious machine in the room but the final 30 seconds show the lady, AM Engineer Imogen Reed according to the file, panic as the machine powers up and then cuts out. This is just one file revealed with more likely to follow.

SOMA could refer to a few things with the most famous example of it being the drug from Aldous Huxley’s book, Brave New World. If we’re looking for PlayStation connections then there was a character called Soma in the PSP game God Eater Burst.

  1. I still can’t finish Amnesia because of just how well crafted the atmosphere and scares are.

Anything from Frictional gets my interest piqued.

  2. kool would love a port of Amnesia for PS4 as well.
