HouseMarque have revealed that the file size of PlayStation 4 launch title Resogun is “well under a gigabyte”.
They also explained to Gear Nuke how the game is pushing the boundaries of console games.
When it comes to antialiasing we are using FXAA. The lighting system is 100% deferred with HDR, SSAO, dynamic shadows and all the jazz with some screenspace reflections and dynamic color grading thrown in as well. We believe this is the first 60fps console game with all that.
The game is said to have more objects whizzing around screen that the human eye can track, and there are also plans for DLC.
“We have long term plans to support the game with DLCs and updates, but at this point we cannot reveal anything specific. We are looking into a lot of options at the moment,” explained Resogun’s Engine Architect, Seppo Halonen.
Resogun will be one of the first games available on PlayStation Plus for PS4.

This is possibly my most anticipated launch game. I got so much out of SSHD that I think I’ll be firing this up before Shadow Fall.

Same here, Looking forward to this than any other launch game.

Not my sort of title but I love that it’s garnered so much positive attention both in the minds of the consumer as well as the media. Good on them. :-)

FXAA isn’t much to brag about, it’s known to cause a full screen blur effect, but as long as it’s a high precision implementation it should work just fine.

Less than a gig, huh? That’s great. The game looks like it’s not using super detailed textures and instead using the machine do lots of maths to generate environments.
Can’t wait any longer for this game!

Looks great and free on psplus (confirmed for EU too?) – what’s not to like!

Must be doing a lot of computing as its running I guess.

In some ways this is everything good about the PS4 in one game. Indie developement, using the GPU for compute, and free with the generous PS+.
Also a great title to show off the system. I would have bought it anyway after enjoying SSHD.

I’m looking forward to playing this and 1GB is pretty good. It should be downloaded and ready to play by the time i’ve finished exploring the settings and UI and tried out the Playroom app.
