Nintendo Amiibo Figures Priced By Retailer

Earlier this month Nintendo unveiled amiibo, a new line of collectible figures which can be used in combination with Wii U and 3DS software.

The company has yet to formerly announce a release date and pricing for its first wave of amiibo characters including classics such as Donkey Kong, Mario, and Pikachu.

UK retailer ShopTo has listed them individually at £12.85 a piece, however. There’s no official word from Nintendo yet, meaning this is probably a place-holder estimate, albeit an accurate one.

If Nintendo is to compete against both Skylanders and Disney Infinity with its range of figures, thirteen quid seems like an acceptable middle ground.

  1. I’m very interested in how they’ll be implemented in other games like Mario Kart and Yoshis Wooly World, but the price seems to be on the high end of what’s reasonable.

  2. Im so glad my son has grown up and no longer wants all these skylanders type figures any more, they are such a waste of money and are way over priced for cheap pieces of plastic.

  3. Got all these with Happy Meals last month, lol!

  4. This is the pay to win side of free to play gaming taken to a whole new level.

Complete ripoff that will unbalance any online game in which they can be used.
