The Binding Of Isaac: Rebirth Confirmed As November’s PS4 PS+ Game

Tyrone Rodriguez, producer of The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, has let slip that the game will be the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita offering in November’s PlayStation Plus update.

You may notice that Tyrone confirmed the news almost two months ago but for once the internet missed his comment.

If you’re not familiar with The Binding of Isaac, it combines elements of The Legend of Zelda and Smash TV with the roguelike genre. The game features hundreds of items, weapons and power-ups, and the developers boast it will take over 500 hours to unlock every item.

It also has the oddest trailer you will ever see, which is a little NSFW as it has tattooed naked people with laser firing breasts and sparkly gentleman parts.

  1. Awesome, looking forward to this one.

  2. …if only they’d put as much effort into the game as they did the video… oh wait.

  3. Great, we get a 3 year old game that looks a lot older than that? That’s going to go down well, isn’t it?

    • NO!

      • I hear it’s a really really good game, but yeah, I think it’s fair to say comments on the PS blog will kick of big time as per usual. Sony must be used to it now.

  4. That video was mental. The game looks no bad though.

  5. Great trailer, in parts, hope someone will make a low-budget-looking 80’s psycho snuff-ish slasher game with that exact atmosphere.

As for the game, I’m so done with the retro games it’s amazing how done I am. I usually defend both Sony and Plus when it comes to what’s on offer for the ridiculously low Plus entry fee, but come on.
    COME ON!

  6. sweet, i’ve got the game on pc, but i’ve always felt this would play better with a twin stick pad.

and when i last played it it, those weren’t supported by the game.

but what the hell was that?
the game’s kinda of insane, but that, that was freaking mental.

  7. Good to see this is finally coming out!

  8. Anyone think that this game will appease PS4 owners after the hoohar over DriveClub?

DriveClub was meant to be such a big launch title, it got delayed, you know the story…
PS+ on PS4 has been chock full of ‘retro’ titles (I prefer to call them ‘cheap home-made games’).
PS4 firmware updates have delivered little more than stability fixes whilst xboxone is being pumped up every month.

Are Sony trying to push their loyal fans over to the dark side?

  9. Still waiting for the 3DS version… :-P

  10. Excellent, a rougelike game on PS+. Haven’t had many of them before. A three year old one too. I feel spoilt.
