Grim Fandango Release Date Announced, Broken Age Coming to Vita & PS4 Too

During today’s PlayStation Experience event, Double Fine’s Tim Schafer took to the stage to drop a huge chunk of information about the company’s titles coming to PS4 and Vita via Sony’s Third Party Production team.

First up was news about the record breaking Kickstarter backed title Broken Age. While Act 1 of the game launched back in January, it hasn’t been available on consoles before. That’s all about to change, as Schafer announced that the complete story (Acts 1 and 2) will be coming to PS4 and PlayStation Vita when Act 2 is released next year.

From there he moved onto Grim Fandango Remastered, an updated version of the classic adventure game announced for PlayStation 4 and Vita back at E3. However, the game wasn’t given a release date during its initial announcement, which Schafer has now confirmed as January 27th 2015.

Finally, Schafer announced another updated version of a classic Lucas Arts title, namely Day of the Tentacle. That’s right, Day of the Tentacle Special Edition will be coming to PlayStation 4, Vita, PC, Mac and Linux, although the release wasn’t given a date.

  1. damn, those segues were pretty awkward, kinda reminded me of the podcast. ^_^

but they led into great news.
Day of The Tentacle and Broken Age coming to playstation as well as the previously announced Grim Fandango.

along with the new Kings Quest game, it’s a good time to be a fan of point and click style of adventures, though some of them aren’t actually point and click.
