Sony: More Surprises At The PlayStation Experience

Jim Ryan, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s president and CEO, has said that we can expect the unexpected during December’s PlayStation Experience event.

“I’m sure there’ll be a few surprises for PlayStation Experience,” said Jim, “Moving from a global calendar of three events to a calendar of four events, it keeps the heat on the developers to churn out new stuff, which is good.”

Jim was speaking to Eurogamer and skilfully batted away the one question everyone wants answered – is No Man’s Sky coming to PlayStation VR? “You’re not going to get anywhere with that one I’m afraid.” he laughed.  When it was pointed out that the June release date for the game coincides roughly with launch of PSVR Jim simply said the idea was “interesting.”

He also seemed to confirm that Uncharted 4 will be the last Uncharted as he felt the series was so closely tied to Naughty Dog that letting another team take over would be a “difficult step.”

  1. Good to hear about uncharted 4 being the last one. Let it rest while it’s still epic. If only someone could tell Ubisoft about assassin creed.

    • AC Syndicate is dope

    • Yup, and when they finish with Uncharted they can focus on TLoU sequel/spiritual successor!

    • After the third one, I thought the series could use a rest but I’m really looking forward to the fourth now. I think Uncharted 4 will be the best yet.

  2. “I’m sure there’ll be a few surprises” – GT Sport delayed……. Then again that wouldn’t be much of a surprise!

  3. PS Vita 2!

    Well he said ‘the unexpected’.

    • The “unexpected”… not the “preposterous”. :P

      • Now now… PSP Go 2 is preposterous. PS Vita 2 is wishful. I doubt Sony will do another handheld. Wonder I they will go and optimise games for their Xperia phones?

      • Let’s just all agree that both ideas are hilarious. :D
