Uncharted 4’s First DLC Drops Next Week

Well, that came around fast didn’t it? Remember – just before the release of Uncharted 4 – developer Naughty Dog chalked up a roadmap for its jaw-dropping finale to the series, outlining what fans could expect from future DLC and when it would become available.

Next week – on June 29th to be exact – will mark the first major content drop alongside a meaty update for the game’s online multiplayer. Naughty Dog is currently keeping schtum though promises to reveal more during a livestream to be held next week (details here).

What we do know is that the update will introduce a brand new map for treasure hunters to explore, completely free of charge. Looking back at their content roadmap, fans should also expect:

  • New game modes
  • New weapons
  • New boosters
  • New mystical
  • A “Cinematic Replay” feature
  • 50+ new skins
  • Over 100 vanity items

For someone who’s been playing an awful lot of Uncharted 4’s multiplayer, that’s a pretty hefty wad of content to get through. The game currently uses a dual currency system, allowing players to purchase cosmetic items with real cash or using the generous flow of Relics earned through matches and daily challenges.

Naughty Dog also confirmed that those who own the Uncharted 4 “Triple Pack” will finally gain access to the elusive “MP Pack #1” next week also, though we’re still clueless as to what it contains.

As touched on before, this content drop brings some bonus fixes and features with it too. Nice little tweaks include the introduction of custom games and the ability to rename player-made loadouts. Changes to the game’s Ranked Team Deathmatch are coming with Naughty Dog teasing something else, too:

There’s one in particular we won’t reveal here, but you can probably guess what it is if you’ve been tracking what is likely the most requested new feature by our community.

Our Relics are on some kind of experience/ranking system.

  1. I hope there is some sort of ranking and reward system put in place. I’m loving the multiplayer and all I play is ranked matches. I’m currently at the platinum II stage and I’ve heard that once you hit diamond there’s little else to go for.

Be good of there’s some extra motivation to continue playing.

    • Yeah, that’s the only thing I’ve been a little disappointed at. Ranks are merely cosmetically, yet having that number slowly tick adds that little extra bit of satisfaction.

  2. As I said in the forums, I’ve got some major issues with the ranked team death matches.
I discovered a new one last night after finally returning to the ranked matches after my last disastrous sessions several weeks ago… After the character screen, instead of the match beginning, I was presented with a blank screen, then a results screen about 30 secs later with only my name listed showing each team had scored ‘0’ points – I then lost 22 points off my rank!
