Inhale The Kirby Star Allies Demo, Out Now On Nintendo Switch

Once upon a time, Kirby was seen as an alternative to the humble vacuum cleaner. Long (and completely factual) story short, it didn’t pan out, and the much more domesticated and controlled Roomba came to the fore for all your autonomous vacuuming needs, but Nintendo were able to turn Kirby into another cornerstone video game protagonist.

Out later this month on 16th March, Kirby is back to star with some allies in Kirby Star Allies. It’s Nintendo’s first real new Switch exclusive of the year, and you can play it right now with the surprise release of a demo. Best of all, the demo will let you break out those extra Joy-Con and play with up to four players.

Simply head to the eShop on your Switch and find the game under the Upcoming Games category, or head to the web browser eShop, log into your account and get it downloading remotely.

  1. Came away with mixed feelings after playing this one. Graphics are great and the core gameplay loop is fun, but having 4 characters on screen at once is too much and far too chaotic to see what you’re doing. It’s also far too easy – not saying Kirby needs to be difficult but the game practically plays itself when you play with AI companions.
