Wouldn’t it be amazing if World of Warcraft came to consoles? It is one of the most popular games in the World after all. But what are the prospects of this ever happening?
According to lead producer, J. Allen Brack it is something which Blizzard talk about constantly, although it seems that the challenges of actually bringing the game to Xbox 360 and PS3 may be one that they are not able to pull off.
Brack’s reasons for the challenges the developers face mainly stem down to the lifecycle of the consoles, along with the fact that they need to balance their own quality control along with that of the console manufacturer. Then there is the fact that WOW is designed for a keyboard, giving them even more to think about.
This is all very well, but what we want to know is, Will World of Warcraft ever see light of day on our favorite consoles? Well I will leave the last word on this to Mr Brack, who told G4TV,
I think it’s unlikely that WoW comes to the consoles, it is something that we talk about on a pretty regular basis, but someone is going to figure out how to make an MMO on a console and they’re going to be wildly successful. I have no doubt about that.
