The Origami Killer is Scott Shelby: Private Investigator, asthma sufferer, forma cop and one half of the Sheppard Twins. He hadn’t been able to save his brother from drowning over 30 years ago and it had obviously messed with his head.
Ethan arrived at Roosevelt Street where Shaun was being held. It was a large industrial unit and he wasted no time in going inside. He quickly found Shaun inside a locked well but the reunion was cut short when Scott Shelby arrived.
SHELBY: Congratulations, Ethan, you are the first man who cares enough about his son to have completed my tasks.
ETHAN: You psycho.
SHELBY: You’re the schitzo, I’m just asthmatic. You have proven that my father was a waste of space.
Shelby pulled a gun on Ethan but before any harm could be done, Jayden appeared and scared off Shelby with his annoying accent. With Jayden and Shelby now chasing each other to the Benny Hill theme tune, Ethan was able to rescue his son. He wasn’t breathing when he pulled him from the drain.
He tried to resuscitate him, albeit not very hard, but Shaun was unresponsive.
ETHAN: Just wake up, Shaun. There’s no way all of this would have happened just for you to die now.
Shaun coughed and regained consciousness…he was milking it all along.
Outside, Jayden and Shelby were fighting to the death. They had somehow managed to climb onto a massive conveyer belt which deposits scrap into a crusher – it was like the travelator from an episode of Gladiators…only without the music, crowd, a Scottish referee and the paper wall at the end. They were high above the ground but the Police on the ground were unaware of what was happening. Shelby slipped up and fell on his back so Jayden took the opportunity to throw things at him, including, but not limited to, a microwave, a holiday for two in the Caribbean, a 12-piece dinner set, a food processor and a cuddly toy.
The conveyer belt reached its limit and Jayden managed to hold onto the side but Shelby fell into the crusher below. Despite the fact that the blades were spread further apart than Tiger Wood’s mistress’ legs, they still managed to get covered in blood.
Down on the ground, Ethan was holding on to Shaun for dear life when Madison appeared again.
MADISON: Hey, you found him. Well done. Police are outside and they are going to shoot you so we’d better leave together.
ETHAN: Okay. You go first, then.
Madison, Ethan and Shaun went out to meet with the Police. It was over.
Epilogue
Ethan and Madison had found a new flat (although it looked exactly the same as Madison’s) in which to start a new life and Shaun was happy…and he’d also forgotten all about his mother.
Jayden was so smacked off his tits that he had begun seeing virtual tanks…I think his drug may have been the ARI technology.
Lauren visited Shelby’s grave and spat on it.
