Reggie Perin Fils-Aime, has revealed that he thinks Sony’s new PlayStation Move controller is simply a Wii-Too device as well as revealing that he thinks not many people will leave the Wii behind just because there are new boys in motion town.
The Nintendo boss was speaking to the LA Times when he let out his feelings,
Looking at what PlayStation is doing, it feels very “Wii-too.” In terms of Microsoft, we’ll see when they actually show off their software. I think our competitors will be challenged in a number of ways: bringing fun experiences to life, because in the end that’s what the consumer wants.
Our competitors will be challenged on providing the great value we have always provided. Our consumers have a system that they love. Is that consumer suddenly going to stop and go do something else?
Having seen the recent footage of what Move can do when used properly it seems to us that Reggie is quite wide of the mark, however if it turns out that publishers end up relying on a load of shovelware to support the device, then who knows, he may just have hit the nail on the head.
